The ideas behind your plan.
Each entry says what it is, why it matters, and your own number next to it. Example view: the charts show illustrative data.
What it is. Your engine is the power you can hold for a long time without running down. Your battery is the extra work you can do above it before you have to back off.
Why it matters. Two riders with the same 20-minute power can race very differently. The engine sets your all-day pace; the battery decides how many surges you can answer.
Your number. Engine (CP) and battery (W′), each with a range and its source.

What it is. Two turning points. Below the first, you can ride for hours. Above the second, the clock starts on how long you last.
Why it matters. Your training zones hang off these two numbers. If they are wrong, every session is aimed at the wrong place.
Your number. First and second threshold, in watts and heart rate, each labelled measured or estimated.
What it is. How much of your power is still there after three, four or five hours.
Why it matters. Long races are not won by the freshest number. They are won by the rider who fades least.
Your number. Your power after hours of riding, against your fresh power.
What it is. What you burn on a long ride against what you eat.
Why it matters. Most fades in long races are an empty tank, not weak legs. The gap shows up hours before you feel it.
Your number. Carbs per hour you burn at race pace, and your race-day target.

What it is. Where effort buys time and where it does not: climbs, flats, wind and descents.
Why it matters. A watt spent on a climb buys more time than a watt spent on a fast descent. Your race plan spends where it pays.
Your number. A ceiling for each climb on your next race.

What it is. Drag area (CdA): how much air you push. Lower is faster.
Why it matters. At race speed most of your power goes into the air. A small position change can be worth more than months of training.
Your number. Your CdA and what it is worth in watts at your race speed.

What it is. The map of everything that moves your power, from sleep and fuel to engine and position.
Why it matters. It shows why one change is the priority this block and the rest can wait.
Your number. The parts we work on now, marked on your map.
